Cliven, if the BLM allowed you to graze your cattle on BLM land (without objection) for more than 5 years, when you did not pay grazing fees, you and your cattle have prescriptive rights to BLM's land ... and you would have no grazing fees due. The claim that you have not paid taxes seems to be false since there is no evidence that IRS has taken tax lien or levy action against you. I suggest you do more to justify and defend your position. The BLM had no legal right to shoot some of your cattle and run more of your cattle to death with helicopters ... along with threatening you and yours with an armed paramilitary-type force. Actions taken against you are similar to what happened at Ruby Ridge and the Waco Siege. If you have not already done so, you need to file litigation against the BLM to recover damages.
Obviously, you have a lot to love and a lot to protect. You probably know that the turtle is not the root cause of this debacle; it is the Virgin River water and surrounding land. Harry Reid most likely is in the pocket of some land developer(s) who want to eventually purchase or trade out this land and develop it all. Anyone would admit it is choice land and when Harry Reid looks at it, he sees dollar signs. He will be back and in force. It will not be rule of law it will be rule of the barrel of a gun if he has his way. If the people of Nevada do not mitigate his venom, I hope you will be prepared to protect your ranch or your life, or both. Perhaps your ranch will be the rally point for a new surge of patriotism, but I think Harry Reid will have to go away before that happens. Good Luck and God Bless
